Cook
- Grill method (best): Place the cedar wrapped meat or seafood over medium heat on a grill. Cook ~4–5 minutes per side until just cooked through. The cedar will release fragrance and lightly smoke the fish.
- Oven method: Preheat to 200°C / 400°F. Place cedar-wrapped fish on a tray and roast ~12–15 minutes.
Soak the Cedar Sheets
- Lightly rinse the sugi ita and soak them in water (10–15 min). This prevents burning and helps release cedar aroma during cooking.
